Alright, not so recent but in 2010, in Afghanistan, soldiers were killing civilians and collecting their fingers as trophies.

Before and after this, unarmed civilians have also been massacred. War may be unpredictable but these are crimes against humanity. Sad that these victims may never see justice because the military deals its own justice.
Nah I'm not into the footsoldier thing, but I like strategy and stealth operations
You must have certain degrees to be in that field
I much prefer to lead you insubordinates to battle
In Somalia we lack those capabilities, due to various factors undermining the role of the SNA, our higher in command are not qualified to partake that role its commonly often for Amisom / foreign mercenaries commanding and giving them orders.
Our politicians are crooked and blind
They don't have the capabilities to lead our soldiers without the assistance of foreign mercenaries .
If Amisom pulls out from the front the large scale causalties are the SNA, and all restored sectors are retaken by Al Shabaab
A weak coward rag tag militia
This situation is not only deteriorating but depressing to see how incompetent our so called commanders are ,
We wonder how on earth these officials gained their positions, was it through nepotism or were they warlords in the 90's
They don't seem to be articulate enough to evaluate the situation let alone being qualified for that particular role most of them are illiterates who never finished elementary school .
They dont have the experience to lead our soldiers at all , since they do not understand the dynamics of warfare and strategy operation
Which is why have the death toll of SNA are skyrocketing
No matter which country they get their training from, theres no central command post , military command headquarters , no command post , no official to answer to
Is equivalent to no loyalty
So it's just a waste of training since there's no high ranking officials with those sets of skills
It's either they answer to those who provided their training or their tribal militias (zero experience )
Can we outsmart our enemies when we lack the finance, infrastructure and tactical maneouvers
We don't pay enough salaries nor do we provide basic needs and services to our military
So it's not surprising if their morale and spirits are really fucking low
It's common sense that they can not secure a sector let alone combating insurgents without the help from outside
What is Amisom doing behind closed doors
Taken advantage of the situation exploiting our political and geopolitical errors
Provoking locals , manipulating our political stooges, involved in numerous arms deals with Al Shabaab, establishing a lucrative market for coal and sugar smuggling
All this under the pretense of fighting Al Shabaab
Despite all this , our politicians dont have a backbone as they tour around the world like the fucking s they are to beg , pretend nothing is wrong with the country, sell us lies with fake hope and restoration
When we see it in our own eyes
Our soldiers are defecting in large numbers to Al Shabaab or their clan militias
Where is the hope
Unless we get rid of these old bastards hang them unfortunately we are all exiled diasporans with no future home
