Common sense goes a long way, why tell a man in the beginning you live alone? Especially with the creeps that are running around? Lie at first and don't be too ready to impart personal information. In the age of serial killers and abusers, you just don't do that.
On the flip side, I don't think living alone hurts your chances of marriage, definitely not in this day and age IF you have a proper reason like living in a different county or country for work/studying ect.

It's not sinful for a woman to live alone. It is sinful to lie about the religion however. Don't speak about what is haram/halal without knowledge.
