There is nothing wrong with your sister working in the students’ residence, especially if it is in your city, but if it is in another city then it is not permissible for her to travel there and back except with a mahram, but it is permissible for her to stay in that residence without a mahram, because what is required is only that she be accompanied by the mahram on the road. The same also applies to the female students who live there. Your sister is not expected to examine each student to find out whether she came with her mahram or travelled without him, rather it is sufficient that her work in the residence does not involve anything haraam. Administration, guard duties, cleaning and so on are all permissible and there is nothing wrong with that, in sha Allaah.

If you lookin into the life of the prophet (pbuh) sister......you see that he discouraged women from living alone.....it is only allowed as a LAST option under certain criterias, us living in the west automatically disqualifies muslim women from living alone as the society we are now living in is "morally" and "religious corrupt"......so for a women to live on her own in the WEST would be very displeasing in the eyes of the lord, and allah knows best.

It's not sinful for a woman to live alone. It is sinful to lie about the religion however. Don't speak about what is haram/halal without knowledge.

How do you know I am lieing....... I must have hit a nerve to be slandered like this lol.......and the problem with western muslims is you guys think everything is black and white when it comes to the religion....alot of the deen has context in it....just because it was allowed at the time when muslims where living in arabia doesnt mean its allowed here......different societys......so different rules to go by......that's why it's clearly stated in the religion that allah blessed us with intellect and for us to use our wise judgement and not think like fools....at the end of the day all major scholars thru the commentary TASFIR of the quran and hadith have stated.....anything displeasing to allah has to be abstained and to stay far away as much as possible from anything that would make you fall in to sin. A muslim sister living on her own in a kaffir country......I dont know about you but logics dictates that's a recipe for disaster (seen it happen already too many times)........."Satan never attacks where he has won. He attacks where he knows he’s losing". So dont be arrogant and think your pious enough to not slip up.....cause I guarantee shaytan going to catch a muslim sister slipping.....how do I know this cause allah told us other than prophet eas (as) who was avoided from getting touched at birth by shaytan......the rest of mankind is not sinless aka "we commit sins". I'm going to end this by saying it's better to be safe than sorry and if you really fear the lord then take the safer path....trust me the regret later is going to be worse and allah knows best.
