In Somali language, trend is called ‘shaac’.
shaac (n, masc.) => trend
shaacaya => trending
Example:

N.B. another meaning for shaac is the sail of the boat (similar to shiraac), the fabric used for tents, or draperies; folded fabrics that expand once opened.
