Why is Eritrea such a shit hole??

Are they truly, though? I knew a diasporan Eritrean in Sweden and it seemed like he was against the regime and disliked Afwerki quite plainly but was just proud of his heritage and culture otherwise. Gave me the impression that this was the norm.

People have an obsession on "dictatorship" when the truth is Eritrea has stability, and achieved self-sufficiency in many areas.

In reality, there is a dictatorship in UK and USA as well. In UK, Queen Eizabeth is the main dictator and every 'elected' UK PM must have her blessing. In USA, the deep state and their operatives are the dictators. The presidents are just managers.

China is run by the Chinese communist party, but they're a rising superpower. The so-called 'elections' are illusions. Stability and self-sufficiency are more important.

Eritreans don't really know to much about Somalis. And vice versa. I don't think they have any special "love" for us.

And you also need developed or semi-developed neighbors to sustain it. You can't be a rich country surrounded by s-holes, their failure will one way or another infect your people.

Mogadishu pre 1991 was one of the most beautiful capital cities in the world also the safest the Somalis had been some of the law abiding people in Africa. But for Somalis like you there is a famous statement from former president Siad barre in his last days and public utterance put down the guns go back to your farms and grow crops. And to add to the Eritrea situation isaias afwerki lived in Mogadishu 1980s together with former pm of Ethiopia meles zenawi they were trained and given Somali passports
