Why is American "work culture" so toxic and slave-like?

What is your take on Agrarianism, walaal?

I truly believe in this as a counter to capitalist society. Turning society into a collection of homesteaders and communal, self-sufficient villages that only really need each other for some raw materials and exchanging ideas.

This is frankly what I want for Somalia. Homesteaders, communal villages and any businesses that need to exist must be cooperatives jointly owned and controlled by all the workers and maybe at best managed day to day by elected workers, then urbanism is somewhat curbed as well to a reasonable degree. More like a collection of small, relatively self-sufficient towns than these giant population centers that essentially run on some form slavery, like wage slavery, all over the world.

I want our people to have simple, slow, self-sufficient lives close to what's important in life. Not emulate gaalo 9-5 slavery and materialism because one is a coon and thinks everything the cadaan man does must be great.

I read up on it and it's very interesting -- especially the fact that it has adherents outside Socialism.

I believe that all enterprises should be owned by the workers and the community in which they operate in; State and Federal Governments should be accorded voting rights on the boards of these enterprises in order to facilitate economic uniformity in the Nation.

I could go on but I'll leave it at that.

The far-left has been, forgive me, mostly ruined by movements like veganism and all this gender binary, transgenderism stuff. It appears too loopy to most conservative, rural people to ever be appealing and they end up ignoring the economic stuff that is beneficial such as even center-leftism like social-democracy. It's sad because these are the peeps who often need and will benefit from these sorts of political arrangements the most but they get distracted by the "SJW" stuff and hand ringing over "MUH GUNS! PC CULTAAAAAH!". Really surreal what wealthy right-wing propagandists have managed to achieve by making these people shoot themselves in the foot.

A lot of what turns them off is also arguably bullshit and a distraction from the real issues. I used to be duped by it but veganism is complete nonsense if you actually know your way around the environment, agriculture and human nutritional needs. It's also no surprise that it mostly benefits corporations as well. Most "I wanna be vegan for the environment" poor fools never quite clock just how dependent on global supply chains, industry and capitalism something like veganism is:
  • Veganism absolutely requires supplementation = dependence on the pharmaceutical industry
  • Veganism requires a wide variety of plants unheard of in nature = global monocrop fields that destroy ecosystems and kill animals daily anyway
  • Veganism's variety ultimately results in needing farming operations all over the world or all over a massive country like the United States = global logistics are needed which pollutes
  • Veganism's wide variety and global, industrial agriculture needs a lot of labor, usually slave labor, including wage slavery
  • Veganism is impossible to homestead. You will never produce all the variety required and even if you did; plant-based diets will always be incredibly deficient and you will slowly and in some cases, in terms of urgent nutrients like B12, deteriorate swiftly = self-sufficiency is impossible
  • All of the above = you are mostly supporting large corporate bodies like Monsanto and not local farmers and economies
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I sometimes really do wonder when folks argue that all this heavy focus on social issues LGBT and on stuff like veganism is not an intentional distraction by wealthy elites. Distract the proletariat from the real issues with all this, basically.

Who do you consider far left?

As in which politicians/political parties?

Which major politicians look subscribe to that ideology anyways.

Pretty much none, my man. All western political leftism is center-left at best, even in Europe. Social democracy and all that which ignoramus gaalo who don't even know their own ideologies like to call "Socialism". Ain't seen no workers owning and controlling the means of production and private property being abolished in the UK or anywhere else but hey, it makes for good memeing in far-left circles:

Westerners don't even know what Communism actually is and think a capitalist country under one party rule with some economic management like current China is "Communist" or they think Leninism which is effectively just state capitalism is Communism which it most certainly is not:

This is partly why the west is hopeless. They don't even know anything about the ideologies that could best liberate them. Red terror propaganda worked very, very well. But we have a chance in Africa. Some small chance anyway.

I have a cousin in burger&fries land who works for a decent company and the shit they make him do is unimaginable. You could take any European employer to the cleaners over the shit that's the norm over there.

If some company "VIP" needs something done, they's run around and work 12+ hour days. Even during a normal work week he's expected to stay behind an extra 2-3hours a day doing admin work because "we're a family here at Cūm Swallowers Ltd" lol

Poor cünt's basically always on call, even when he came down to visit us a while back he was constantly answering emails, whilst on holiday?! He didn't get to enjoy the holiday ffs.

For the love of god, why don't they people start unionizing? Seeing as their goverment isn't lifting a finger to protect them from these abusive employers:faysalwtf::faysalwtf:

Reer burger sspot posters who actually work over there, why the f*ck do you let your employers get away with this shit? I'd rather work as an uber driver or cash in hand in Amer-Shaytan land.
Do you know what happen to Amazon and tesla employees if they even thought if unioninzing ?

Amazon workers use diapers to pee btw

tbh "workers owning the means of production" is hard to pull off and kind of unreasonable. even the ussr had state control despite having trade unions. it ends up with nationalization.

I disagree with it being unreasonable, walaal. What's unreasonable is the current state of affairs but you're right about it being hard to pull off. Those in power will fight tooth and nail before they let that happen and the current paradigm has been generationally so programmed into people that it feels almost hopeless. And what happened in the USSR was honestly just a hijacking of a popular movement by people like Lenin for their own self-absorbed and arguably power hungry ends.

Well said walaal Shimbiris, I couldn't have worded it better myself, an egalitarian agrarianistic society focused on the collective prosperity of our people is everything I dream of. It seems like a distant utopian fantasy at times but more people becoming increasingly aware of the futile and grueling nature of this system does leave me with hope.

The lines between work and personal life have been blurred. I agree that there's a strange and pervasive company culture/policy that employees have to buy-in, the perks (cell, laptop, car) come with strings attached. Can you deny their call/meeting when they pay the bills?

Wallahi, it'd be cool if in this future agrarianist society many Somalis live in geodesic dome homes like these:

They're like a modern Aqal Soomaali. The domed mat-tents used by Cushitic and other Sahelian nomads for thousands of years. Seriously just the same concept. A metal instead of wood skeleton shaped like a dome and then covered with modern tarps rather than the mats our ancestors used to weave. Would make folks a lot more mobile and less materially tied down too and would be like continuing an ancient tradition with a modern twist.

I agree that the left has essentially destroyed its own political prospects through its obsession with 'social justice' issues; the economic policies advocated by certain quarters in the left are widely popular, but they won't gain traction until and unless the left discards its social justice baggage.

A lot of what turns them off is also arguably bullshit and a distraction from the real issues. I used to be duped by it but veganism is complete nonsense if you actually know your way around the environment, agriculture and human nutritional needs. I don't know much about veganism to offer a good, informed response; I've only watched some YouTube videos about it and I've entertained the idea of adopting that diet, but it just seems too exacting.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I sometimes really do wonder when folks argue that all this heavy focus on social issues LGBT and on stuff like veganism is not an intentional distraction by wealthy elites. Distract the proletariat from the real issues with all this, basically.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was the case; the left is far too preoccupied with inconsequential nonsense, when they should be pushing for economic policies that affirm worker's rights; and the need to push back against the power of the Wall-Street consensus and the Neoliberal poison they prescribe.

@Shimbiris

How would Agrarianism work with the need to develop strategic technologies and weapons?

I would imagine some semblance of industry and "business" would need to exist as well as some global trade and exchange of resources and ideas. Large cooperative businesses and the like whose workers can be supplemented by the likely more numerous agrarianists and in this ideal society humans wouldn't have much of a reason not to heavily automate many forms of work other than the ones they actually just enjoy and get emotional and health value from doing as the profits would be shared across society anyway. Automation wouldn't be this scary scourge that puts people out of jobs and makes the rich richer but a tool that gives people more free-time.

Mind you, I am not a fan of the progress narrative of the modern world. It's a spook in my opinion. Only remotely made understandable by the idea that by constantly advancing we may become an "interstellar civilization" and therefore preserve the existence of our species until the end of time but at what cost? No point existing forever if most of our species is poor, miserable and slave-like and even those at the top suffer depression and mental as well as physical illness on some level. Progress, progress. It's a sickness like the Capitalist obsession with constant growth on a planet with finite resources. So I honestly don't care about developing technologies and weapons that much beyond the point of simple necessity like remaining secure against neighboring nations which can possibly be done in the manner mentioned in the previous paragraph.
