Why does somalia have no subway or railways?

Everyone claims things were good in before siad barre went nuts and that he was setting up deals to extract our resources, but what about the rest of the infrastructure? Why are we so behind everyone? Almost every other country in the 60's and 70's had built some sort of train system and railway system to transport resources mined.

So what happened? Was siad barre going to do this until the civil war broke out? It's strange that we had peace and yet not one of the barre cabinet had the idea to do business with peaceful Scandinavian countries to build up infrastructure. Even the desert rats managed to build a city or two from 1960 onwards.

There will be a mass Camel protest. All Camels will come out and protest because they will be out of job.

You have your priorities mixed up. Lets first focus on water, build a wall to stop Arab and African invasions, build few libraries and raise our collective IQ level first:whoa:

You rarely post but all of sudden you posting what's up with tbat

Somalia was not a densely populated country. Urban cities didn't exist so there was no need for railways at the time.

To build railways and manage it would simply need large fundings and use a large percentage of the national budget with not enough gain. Each transport system is built into the country's infrastructure and as such must make economic sense or eventually close. There were other more important things to use the money on I guess.

Did you enjoy this post? Like sort of nodded to yourself about your very own sophisticated humour behind the keyboard.

I flooded my house and currently waiting for carpet cleaners. Couldn't do anything else useful.

But the more important question is: Why are you interested in my posting habits? You know I'm a man right? Just incase you are confused about gender?

We only had one railway connecting jowhar -afgoye and xamar that was build by the Italians and was later destroyed by the British.

British caused a lot of destruction against Somalia.

Apparently, the Italians built the largest salt factory in the world in Ras Hafun until the British destroyed it.

You know about this @GBTarmy @Crow?
this salt factory gave thousands jobs sad that it was destroyed, the british did not care and recklessly bombed anything without any compensation. It's still one of the main projects we should try to revive since the area hurdiyo and hafun have a lot of salt mining potential just need better infrastructure.
