I'm also not saying she did not go through pain. But the way she spoke was so pretentious, it was crazy. At least if you're going to do the trauma dump, say it like you mean it. You feel me? She talks like she's performing.

Not saying she did not go through pain, again, but..

She looks like she held back a laugh before she cried, dawg. This is peak narcissism. And I hate how Somalis are maximizing this lately. We're less people of substance and more of looks and vein shit. Like spewing trauma on the fakest platform, fake crying, giving hug to an cadaan woman who looked like she worked 10 years for UNICEF, trying to make up for harm done by a husband who worked for the Bush administration or something, yet still support the imperialist machine while feeling good rubbing bald headed children in Malawi-- type beat. :mjkkk:
The west still controls Africa IMF keeps them debt trapped and UN thugs are everywhere this guy Obama had them fooled they thought he was a friend even though he was overthrowing governments left and right in

These Damm Chinese have been helping them as well :mjkkk:

Who elected her to even be Somalias representative in this competition? Nobody, so what the f*ck is she on about. We need a secret organisation to deal with these people.

2nd thing is she engaged in qabyaalad, pubclicly. All in all this woman has no qualifications to represent us in any single imaginable way.

So the female circumcision that modern Somalis practice was likely not derived from the Ancient Egyptians. It is instead virtually identical to that of the pre-Islamic Arabs, who (unlike most modern Arabic speakers, who only circumcise their males) used to infibulate virtually all of their women. The pre-Islamic Arabs were nomadic pastoralists, and in many other ways they had a quite similar culture as Somalis. They used to infibulate their girls to protect them from sexual assault when they were tending livestock. This is the same reason why ancient Somalis, Abyssinians and other Hamitic peoples of the Horn region kept up the practice. It wasn't for weird superstitious reasons, but instead for practical ones: type 3 is very rare nowadays though.

How does FGM protect from assault, wouldn’t it just make assault more painful/traumatic

That’s a very valid point. From a modern perspective, infibulation absolutely doesn’t prevent sexual violence—it just adds more trauma and long-term harm. But in the context of the societies that practiced it, the idea was that by sealing the vaginal opening (except for a small hole for urine and menstruation), it would make penetration more difficult or impossible without visibly breaking the seal. This was thought to deter potential attackers, especially when girls were alone tending livestock far from others. In addition, families believed it helped preserve a girl’s ‘virginity’—which was often linked to her marriageability and social value. So it was about social control as much as perceived physical protection. Of course, from today’s standpoint, we know it causes immense harm and doesn’t protect anyone in any meaningful or humane way.”
