The war wasn't Daarood vs Isaaq but people vs the regime as there were many Daarood members in SNM particularly in the executive committee council of the movement

The 'war' was absolutely Darod vs Isaaq. A handful of members from other qabils doesn't change the fact that SNM was overwhelmingly Isaaq (especially Garxajis) and likewise we all know that the Barre government was by Daarood and for Daarood (especially Marehan, Ogaden and Dhulbahante,known as MOD).
