to be honest i dont get these arguments because the only oromos that wear somali clothes are 15 year old oromo girls that have assimilated with their high school somali friends. this is a real phenomenon because there was this oromo balaayo that i personally dont like (reasons..) that lied to people and said she was somali when she wasnt. maybe due to insecurity but i dont like to talk about her further

Oromos are population wise the same size as us 'rough estimate'
so your question is justified, then why is our cultural exchange with the Oromo largely one sided, its because our culture is more dominant.
By dominant I do not mean we force Oromo to take our culture, I mean Oromo and Somali are both in the same linguistic and genetic cluster, we can take each others culture rather easily.
We became dominant because we succeeded where they failed, against other cultures, Oromo today are victims of Habesha colonization for centuries. Had that not happened perhaps they would still be copying from us, then I would say its probably due to our culture just being better.
But I stand by the fact that they have suffered colonization at the hand of Habesha, this is why their culture is underdeveloped, and they naturally seek out the next best thing, Somali culture, we are their brethren after all.
