Why do Dominicans deny they're black ?

I had a Dominican friend in secondary school who used to always say she's latina,not black.

I we exclude Dominicans suo are clearly white we would probably have an average of 60% black ancestry for the rest of dominicans.

I would understand when somali Americans say they aren't black the term black in America is meant for Ados people who can't trace back their lineage wheras somalis can they are somali American.

Do you live in South London?I heard most of the Latinos there live in Stockwell and Elephant and Castle they are mostly Colombians and Brazilians, with some Ecuadorians and Bolivian too.
