Why couldn't farmaajo defeat ahmed madoobe

I found a source that details the complex history of Kismayo in the early 90s.

USC forced it's way to Kismayo and defeated all Darood faction in it's way after the government fell.

"In January 1991, as the USC fought Barre in Mogadishu, the SPM threatened to seal off his retreat south at Afgoi. However, after Barre fled from Mogadishu, USC leaders lost control of the situation and fighting erupted in February 1991 between the USC and the SPM in Afgoi. The defeated SPM were forced to flee south to Kismayo, where they joined up with other disparate Darod who had fled from Mogadishu. The front line between the USC and SPM/SNF passed through the Juba valley three times between February and April 1991. The USC finally captured Kismayo at the end of April 1991, and the SPM/SNF were pushed south of Doble."

All Darood factions united briefly under SPM to push out USC from Kismayo

"When the USC overran Mogadishu, Gabiyo was released from prison. At the time Beliliqo's supporters came from the Awlihan, Mohamed Zubeir and Muqaabul in the Lower and Middle Juba, while Jess's support came from the Awlihan in Bakool, and Mohamed Zubeir in Ethiopia. Following their defeat the various Darod factions, including the SPM (Ogadeni), SSDF (Harti) and SNF (Marehan), regrouped under the banner of the SPM. Internal Darod conflicts over land were forgotten in the face of the anti-Darod rhetoric from Aideed, who proclaimed his intention of clearing all Darod from Somalia. Gabiyo was appointed the new chairman of the SPM, and Jess the military commander. General Morgan (Majeerteen and Barre's son-in-law) was given charge of the police. The election of Gabiyo as the Chairman led to a rift between Gabiyo and Jess. It is suggested that Gabiyo was elected chairman to ensure the support of his Awlihan clan, who up until then had been supporting Jess."

After kicking out Caydiid Harti & Marehan combined thier forces to kick out Jess SPM (Ogaden) Jees then went and made alliance with Cyadiid who he just participated in kicking him out of Kismayo.

"In June 1991, the SPM recaptured Kismayo and Brava. A second attempt to retake Mogadishu was again defeated by the USC. In December 1991, during the re-election of the SPM chairman, Gabiyo and Morgan combined forces to remove Jess's forces from Kismayo and Brava. Jess then went on to form an alliance with Aideed's USC, which became known as the Somali Liberation Army (SLA). Their combined forces managed to push Gabiyo and Morgan out of Kismayo and in April 1992 forced Barre into exile in Kenya. Following this victory Aideed and Jess formed the Somali National Alliance (SNA), combining together with the SDM and the SSNM."

Morgan with Marehan support Kenyan armament managed to run through Gedo and Middle Juba cutting the road leading to Kismayo.

"Following their defeat in Kismayo, there was an attempt by the Majeerteen to replace Morgan as army commander with General Hirani (Awrtabley). Some 40 Majeerteen elders in Kenya signed a letter replacing him, and his supply routes from Kenya were cut. Morgan responded by professing to be fighting, not just for the Majeerteen, but all the Darod. In this way Morgan managed to gather the support of the Marehan. With Marehan support, and allegedly resupplied by the Kenyan military, he was able to move up the Kenyan border to El Wak. From there he was able to recapture Gedo and went on to take Saakow, Bu'aale, and Afmedow (a Mohamed Zubeir town) and Bardheere in October 1992. He also managed to cut the Kismayo-Liboi road and capture Liboi from Jess. At this point UNITAF intervened in Somalia."

Infamous massacre of Harti elders when Jees SPM anticipated Morgan advance to Kismayo. His ally Caydiid was facing increasing pressure from RRA in Bay & Bakool as well and UNITAFF/UNOSOM

Morgan outsmart Belgian troops to capture Kismayo from Jees/Caydiid alliance.

"It has been suggested that when UNITAF arrived, Aideed's power was in decline, under pressure on fronts in the south and north-east. This is why Aideed is thought to have accepted the US intervention. With the arrival of the UNITAF, supporters of Omar Jess, fearful that they might lose Kismayo, were involved in the assassination of over 100 Harti people in the town between 8 and 10 December 1992. In January 1993, Morgan attempted to recapture Kismayo but was repulsed by the US military. On 22 February, two weeks before the start of the National Reconciliation Conference in Addis Ababa, Morgan was able to infiltrate fighters into Kismayo, and after some bloody street battles routed Jess's forces and recaptured the town. Jess's forces had been deprived of their heavy weapons by the UNITAF disarmament programme. Interpretations of the events that enabled Morgan to capture Kismayo vary. The USC/SNA alliance believe that the Belgian UNOSOM forces are not impartial, and Morgan's soldiers were allowed into Kismayo. Some Harti believe that UNOSOM allowed Morgan to re-enter Kismayo, because 'they view it as a Harti town'. This is despite the fact that, when US forces first arrived in Somalia, US Ambassador Oakley refused to meet the 'cold-blooded murderer' Morgan. The other interpretation is that UNOSOM Belgian troops were outwitted by Morgan. Whatever the truth, the SNA/USC supporters remain extremely bitter. Their cynicism is increased by the fact that since February 1993 the US and Belgian troops have twice repulsed attacks by Jess fighters on Kismayo. Since March, therefore, Kismayo has nominally been under the control of an alliance of SPM/SNF/SSDF forces (in Kismayo known as the SPM), under the overall command of Morgan. Nominally, because Morgan himself has not returned to Kismayo and remains in Doble, and also, because his supporters have no visible military presence on the streets of Kismayo. The rise of Morgan, as the 'champion of the Darod', seems to have sidelined Gabiyo, although he was one of the 15 signatories of the Addis Ababa agreement"

So in short Darood had long running dispute over ownership of Kismayo. Habar Gidir pushed through Kismayo. Darood kicked out HG from Kismayo. Harti & Marehan kicked out Ogaden from Kismayo. Ogaden teamed up with Habar Gidir to recapture Kismayo and kick out Harti/Marehan. Harti and Marehan run through Jubaland and finesse Kismayo from Ogaden/HG

No wounder Kismayo is such a controversial topic among it's residents. This city has been bitterly contested and fought over throughout the decades. Greed, power, betrayal and dominance are common themes in it's short history.

Darood regrouped and defeated USC in Kismaayo and wanted to recapture Xamar.
But MZ Ogaden refused to bring back MSB because that is what most Darood faction wanted to re install the dictator. So the Darood alliance was short lived.Morgan in his early days wanted to being back MsB because MSB was his father in law.

As for the Afgooye incident USC ambushed Axmed Cumar Jess eho wasnt expecting an assault from.USC.Because Axmed Cumar Jess was in alliance with Farax Caydiid and Tuur of SNM to kick out MSB.

So you temporarily regrouped with Marehan/Harti but refused to reinstall Barre? The moment he signed off Ogaden to Ethiopia SPM broke from SNA and fought the government. Caydiid/USC posed enough threat to force all Darood to regroup and repulse him. Then you went back on bickering and got the boot. Asked USC to conquer Kismayo again. So it wasn't just Marehan who asked HG for help in Jubaland Ogaden also done the same. This just shows how chaotic and impulsive southern regions of Somalia. Alliances are forged and broken in matter of months.

No offence but after Ethiopia I can't take your posts seriously you're shape shifting like Tikniko and don't see your own biases, always volatile in your position depending on latest developments. You'll make up a story to suite your narrative and run with it as facts. It's hard to get anything objective from you cus every other post is heavily pro Ogaden regardless of factual events that transpired.

Complaining about who has support is soft we didnt bring Ethiopia nor did we dump nuclear waste in the ocean for weapons these are the major teams:

Ogaden-Kenya Vs. MX-Ethiopia/Fed.(Hawiye) Vs. AS-???

Regardless The victor in JL is evident.

Tolomoges connections to Kenya is the key piece for Ogadens that Mx/Hawiye couldnt match with “Reer Diini” and their marriage to the TPLF and Gabre. Without a rift between Ogadens again and without foreign backing greater then Kenya the city will remain. JL state is here to stay and its founders will hold its power unless AS wins.

whats with this nonesense of marehan+ethiopia?

Ethiopia under TPLF where fully with madoobe and forced janan/ siyad adan and fartaag to join him.

Kenya bombs gedo everyday, when Ethiopia bombs afmadow village then you can say MX+ethiopia.

Weak somalian clans can't fight against Ogaden ibn Absame, you must come with a nation or lose all your men as mx learned a decade ago :pachah1:

Ugas in 2014 all these Marehan forumers didn't know about Badhaadhe both as district or town. After the Jubaland elections one claimed it's Bantu Land. History-less will clinch to anything shamelessly.

and ogaden was the last to use the foreign card.

barre hirale was ahead of ogaden, using Ethiopia by claiming kismaayo was an onlf hideout.

If farmaajo with the might of the entire government +Ethiopia couldn't secure kismaayo from madoobe, I think, the it's over city, the fate of the city has been sealed.

This is not a Marehan fault, Farmaajo was just too stupid to carry out this mission.
All my Marehan friends from Gedo blame retard Farmaajo and their right this dude from deep Mudug knows nothing about Jubbaland or it's politics. Plus Kismayo will forever be a Puntland city.

Trying to view Ogaden as one group during the civil war in Waamo is as much of a mistake as trying to understand “Hiraab” or “Hawiye” as one entity during Xamars fallout. Too many internal parties acting independently.

TPLF despised Madoobe for his ties to the ONLF and Mx capitalized on that regularly. But what could your aabo Gabre say to Yusuf Xaaji and Kenya. Dont hate the player if you played the game :denzelnigga:
