I'm all for international investment but i think we should learn from our African counterparts, they've allowed foreigners to come and invest in basic developments, leaving the economy in tatters, the 'take take and give nothing' strategy, taking advantage of our ignorance and lack of creativity.
We can have somali brands selling somali owned products, is there really a need for a turkish furniture company in mogadishu? All it will do is take business away from the somali hooyos who have been in this business.
I also think there is major corruption as turkish owned port will properly give turkish imports into mogadishu some real good incentives.
The biggest hotel in xamar is turkish. WTF!
The people in xamar need to understand you don't need turkish companies which are far more advanced and at an advantage to come and run a monopoly in the place, it's devastating for the economy. It's turkish made, turkish imported, and only Turks will benefit all that money spent on those products will not stay in our economy.
