Somali is hard. Has anyone even outlined the grammatical rules for teaching it or are we just winging it?

Somali has fewer wiki articles than weird tiny minority dialects in Europe like Low Saxon, Manx, Limburgish, West Frisian, LOL.
..shame
You're comparing the resources of Central European countries like Germany and Netherlands to Somalia? The only Somalis with full access to Wikipedia are diaspora and they more likely to speak the languages of the country they live in.
Maybe they have something else to do like avoid being killed by thirst or clan disputes have you forgotten our GDP/PC is $600 Wikipedia articles are the last thing they Should be worried aboutThat argument may have had some validity in the 90s or early 00s, but now internet access is even common in the third world. Many third world languages have big wikis. It might be a sign of weak scholarly culture among Somalis.

Their are stats proving somali GDP is between 550-650, probaly lower now considering their was drought killing 80% of our livestock.Have you seen the comment sections on Somali news websites? There are thousands of Somali trolls out there ..in Somalia often. People are people everywhere, lol.
PS. The Somali GDP stat is fake news. Nobody has done a detailed study on it and in Somaliland and Puntland it is higher than most of Africa.

Somali is pretty easy to learn as a language. It's just that it doesn't have the amount of resources for learning that languages like French and Arabic have. That's the fault of the Somali government and people. The Somali government doesn't even have an official institution dedicated to preserving and propagating the language. Somalis people don't have the initiative to set up their own language programmes like Rosetta Stone or Teach Yourself guides.
Just decided to check out some of the Somali wiki pages to see what the quality is like:
https://so.wikipedia.org/wiki/Af-Soomaali
''Af Soomaaliwaa luuqad lagaga hadlo wadanada Geeska Afrika, gaar ahaan Soomaaliya, Jabuuti, dhulka ay itoobiya gumaysato Iyo dhulka kiinya gumaysato''
LMAO, way to keep bias out![]()
Are these folks serious? Theres unlimited amount of different types of Somali websites that are available on the internet. You're comparing the resources of Central European countries like Germany and Netherlands to Somalia? All my family members and relatives are able speak English, as they should. There won't be a language barrier. It's not my job to save the langaab Somali language in the Western world. There is no place for it here. The much gigantic Chinese and Indians are starting to lose their language.
I find it very offensive you are pushing the Somali language on me. The Somali identity will be dying with me anyway and not going past my family generation. I'm on Somalispot as an extended farewell and to plan for the funeral. I'll tell my kids I don't know my background when they ask
Have u thought about getting a hearing aidI couldn't speak for other Somali people in London but I know all my sibling, their Somali is not really fluently. Besides, they couldn't read or to write Somali words like me. I really don't speak Somali at all because of my hearing loss, and my parent had a reason not to teach me the Somali language, they don't want to put too much on pressure on me because they think teaching me Somali would slow my English language development during the childhood and teenage so eventually they decided that English is more important for my educational and my future. By the way, I can lip read as well and speak orally in an English language but not Somali though
I met many Somali people who are also deaf or hard of hearing, they couldn't speak Somali either.
However, it'd be different if I was born in Somalia.
