Why are Muslims offended when people question Islam?

I'm not talking about the biased attacks non-Muslims say about Islam and the prophet. I'm talking about when I, as a Muslim, question the religion because something doesn't seem right about what I heard and I need a more knowledgeable person. They give you this weird look and totally change up there manners when that happens.

Eventually I just stopped asking for others opinions altogether in fear of ostracising myself so can someone explain to me why this is wrong?

I consider myself an open-minded person and following a religion solely because your parents did too just doesn't sit right with me.

If it’s something you want to get clarified by someone then I get that but I guess sometimes it can come across as challenging the religion. Idk really.

I never actually phrase it like an attack though. It's usually a topic that it quite controversial that I ask some clarification about.

For some reason some Muslims are content with following the religion whilst ignoring some parts of it which I find pretty disingenuous.

believing something > believing nothing. even the most far off religions believe that something created them.
a wise man once said, if you were a muslim and lived your life as one and did good for yourself, then IF there was a god you will be in luck. on the other hand if you were an agnostic and lived your life as one and did no good by not believing
then IF there was a god you will be in trouble.

Nah its because a lot of Muslims aren't fully convinced themselves so questions really rattles them. It's better not to ask lay people, but a learned imam.

Been there, done that
There's nothing challenging about wanting to learn more, seeking information if you're confused about something isn't a sign of weak beliefs either, Allah made us curious beings afterall, it's only natural to apply it on everything

Withholding further details and rejecting questions is the difference between a religion and a cult

Usually that's when their knowledge or faith is limited. So they subconsciously commit a fallacy, most common is an ad-hominem. They try to compensate for their lack of faith and knowledge by attacking/ridiculing you as an individual. I've noticed that some but not all Muslims do this. However, majority of Somalis are like this.

I get were ur coming from, it’s good to questions things however don’t bother telling fellow samaales

This type of behaviour is prevalent in people who don't fundamentally understand the religion themselves, so any attempt to engage in a discussion is seen as undermining or attacking their beliefs.

You should never be afraid to ask questions @Whimsical fanatic, we were granted free will and curiosity for a reason

Islam is all about seeking knowledge. Theres verses after verses, and hadiths after hadiths, about learning. The famous saying of the Prophet (SAW) about going as far as China for learning. So no, there's nothing wrong with asking questions and needing clarity.

That saying is fabricated, although a good idea

Because their are stupid ignorant, If their fail to make you understand a simple question for example here is one:.

Dad dad! why does God exists?
Father should respond why do you exists?

Hit them back with their own question :russ:
