Ok so hear me out. I got these 2 somali lads that I'm very close with. We have known each other since high school. 1 is isaaq and the other is dhulbahante. So basically the isaaq guy is so obsessed with Somaliland to a point where it scares me (mind you he hasn't changed), and in discussions with other somalis the first thing he would utter is that he is a 'proud' lander.

During our high school years he would reach out to me via Facebook and send me bunch of articles from pro Somaliland outlets, whilst at the same time hyping up SL. He'd say stuff like: 'Omg look bro we are progressing!' 'SL is truly far ahead from the rest of Somalia, just look at this new hospital we've built, new road, new schools etc' So me being me, I eventually got caught up in his hype (yes, I was a naive boy in HS). So this one time after school I ran straight to my home, opened my computer and searched for Somaliland/Hargeisa on Youtube. What I saw was truly horrifying.

I did not see any roads. No new schools, heck even the hospitals were missing. Instead all I saw was huge amount of dirt on the ground, goats roaming free everywhere and drivers struggling to get by due to no roads. I was mad. Furious in fact. I felt betrayed. Like why would this nigga lie?

I'm not a qabilist brother. I truly love each and everyone of my somali brothers and sisters, regardless of tribe. Just wanted to air out this weird pattern I've noticed about landers, that's all.

Somalis are the same although some are more vocal about their tribe than others. All of them cut from the same clothe in the end no matter their attitude.

I know for a fact if an outside non-somali enemy stated a clear intension of wanting to decimate Issaqs only out of all somalis, somalis from all clans would volunteer for Jihad to defend their kinsmen. Same would happen for Isaqs and many would raise the banner to come to the aide of other somalis in a unifying cause like they all did during Ahmad Gurey era.

Beneath the clan rivalry, somalis call on to each other for all needs. Good people.

Back to the topic. Somaliland is a very messed up country 99,99% is without electricity or infrastructure. The whole system is made that the area between Hargeisa-Berbera-Burco only get financed I call it the triangle of doom . bermuda triangle or Sambusa Triangle.
