I don’t see how a country having beautiful places and people being proud of the development which is a marker of progress even if it is albeit baby steps, insensitive. There is beauty to be found everywhere and every nation does it.

Is it a marker of progress for someone to make a video going shopping, getting groceries, going to places of leisure, living in a nice apartment? That's not a marker of progress. That is a privilege that very few are afforded in one of the most poorest countries in the world where babies die because there's no food.

If you want to show markers of progress go record the latest economic projects, new schools being built, new wells being dug, new roads, humanitarian projects, etc. Showcasing restaurants and shopping in an impoverished society is not a flex.

I don’t see why people are hating? Moqdishu has many beautiful places and areas. This is the average life of a middle class resident. Also, the idea of only the diaspora living like that isn’t true. There are in fact many rich locals there who make us look poor.

I’m talking about on the ground in which there has been an increase in businesses, places of interests and attractions which obviously Is a marker of progress as it provides more jobs ect. As for schools and unis, when I was last there I saw at least 6 universities and many and I mean many schools. The thing is, it goes hand in hand as people that are building and developing are also investing in schools and universities.

I don’t see why it has to be one or the other. We can show restaurants and places of interest and we can also shows schools ect.
