USC the biggest loser in the history of rebel groups their only achievement was the overthrow of Siad barre nothing else no government formed afterwards interfighting destruction of the capital to rubble famine I will never understand the logic behind aidid’s refusal to recognise Ali Mahdi as president since he was even congratulated by Siad barre’s home region gedo now what else is there to say my compatriotUSC. We lost the most and look at us now. 2 HAG states with Banadir soon joining us.
This mentality was mainly fed by Somali parents who fled their homeland their bizarre clan ideology is still visible in the youth today but the majority are idealistic clever and want a better stable SomaliaAfter losing millions of people through starvation, killings, and and anarchy, we still don't have a functioning state that controls Somalia's borders. Our maritime resources are robbed, and toxic waste is dumped to our ocean. Our country is fractured and cadaan gaalo stationed in Xalane are calling the shots in Somalia and constantly engineer squabbling between the sitting president and prime ministers. Our forests are also destroyed so a fat Arab in UAE can have a sweet charcoal for his shisha. No one won. We all lost. And sadly, we still have the same mentality that has led us to this disaster.
If only they had won Somalia would have remained a stable country with law and institutions they tried to recapture Mogadishu twice after Siad barre departed in January 1991 in a tank and convoy of 50 cars for his clan strongholds in southwestern Somalia the main cause was that the SPM led by Omar jess who was once a colonel in the Somali national army prior to 1991 he deserted after the arrest of the then defence minister Aden gabyow in 1988 in March 1989 soldiers of the Ogaden clan mutinied in Kismayo, and fighting continued until the government troops gained the upper hand in July. But following their defeat the various factions, including the SPM SSDF and SNF regrouped under the banner of the SPM. Internal conflicts over land were forgotten the second attempt to retake xamar was crushed in part because Omar jess ordered his fighters to push back the snfSNF won.
What is the purpose of rebel groups? Who is moronic enough to expect a militia/guerrilla group to be the foundation of sound government?USC the biggest loser in the history of rebel groups their only achievement was the overthrow of Siad barre nothing else no government formed afterwards
The usc was created funded by the SNM they encouraged them to so called get Siad barre boots off their necks and no it had nothing to do with darood or any other clan since it was a national government overthrown consisting of all clans/subclans and yes they would have been able to set up a government For its part, the SNM initially refused to accept the legitimacy of the provisional government that the USC had established but in March 1991 the SNM's former leader Ahmed silaanyo proposed a power-sharing framework between the SNM and USC under a new transitional government. To conclude aidid’s refusal to recognise and cooperate with Ali Mahdi Muhammad was the root cause of Somalia not having a government after Siad barre’s overthrowWhat is the purpose of rebel groups? Who is moronic enough to expect a militia/guerrilla group to be the foundation of sound government?
The aim of the non-Darood militias was to bring down the Darood dictatorship. They did that successfully. Mission accomplished.
In SL, the foundations of a government was built more by the clan elders of all SL inhabitants led by the likes of Garaad Cabdiqani & Sheikh Cali Jowhar, not just by the SNM.
You're just sour because the USC took revenge. I don't condone their actions, but neither would I have expected them to be the basis of a new government.
I regret trying to engage in a meaningful discussion...The usc was created funded by the SNM they encouraged them to so called get Siad barre boots off their necks and no it had nothing to do with darood or any other clan since it was a national government overthrown consisting of all clans/subclans and yes they would have been able to set up a government For its part, the SNM initially refused to accept the legitimacy of the provisional government that the USC had established but in March 1991 the SNM's former leader Ahmed silaanyo proposed a power-sharing framework between the SNM and USC under a new transitional government. Uninformed? How is this not accurate or are you just expecting all Somalis are incredibly naive? What we are saying is both completely true and I’m fully aware of the northwestern part of Somalia secession in 1991 and who put it on the table this is common knowledge among somalisI regret trying to engage in a meaningful discussion...
Just sheer, uninformed gobbledygook.
I asked a very narrow, focused questions. You went on an incoherent, irrelevant rant.Uninformed? How is this not accurate or are you just expecting all Somalis are incredibly naive?
