North Africans have alot of IBM ancestry so they get drifted closer to africans than arabs. We still cluster closer to nuba nilotes than north africans tho.

Yh I said it's both paternal and maternal, I was referring to the Eurasian there, many Somalis have Eurasian maternal haplogroups such as M,N,K,R,H,U etc

The reason why we plot closer to Nilotes is because we carry 60% Nilotic related female ancestry. Our true default ancestry would be similar to Mesolithic North Africans who were similar to Natufians and Taforalt.
Somalis currently have 35% Natufian or Mesolithic North Africa ancestry and 5-10% Arabian ancestry. This adds up to 45%. Out of this only 35% can be considered true west Euroasian because the Natufian/Mesolithic North African carries some deep hidden African ancestry

Same can be said with Berbers. They are Amazigh speaking European. Their most dominant gene is EEF which is Early European farmer ancestry. In other words us Amazigh and Cushitic people kept our male E-M215 lineage but conquered other communities and took their women. In our case it’s the Nilotes and with the Berbers it’s the EEF ancestry.,
This phenomenon is found in every major group to be honest. The original Indo Europeans were the Yamnaya from the eastern Ukraine steppe. One branch went east wards mixing other groups on the way and thus becoming the Indo European speaking Persians and N. Indians while the other branch went west wards into Europe proper and mixed with the Hunter Gatherers of Europe as well as the EEF that were in Europe before the Indo Europeans.
We are therefore fully Cushitic in a sense that our male lineages are in tact and our language too
