Hodan, Heliwaa/Huriwaa, and Wardhiigley are majority HG districts. I would guess Huriwaa is 95% HG (Cayr) and also there are many HGs in Xamarweyne not as big as others tho a good amount of the people there are HG:dabcasar:

I see, and outside of the Benadir region?

That’s not true saxib.
Somalis aren’t just nomads, we developed the coasts as profilic merchants and over time Arabs and co. settled on our lands. Majority of them came during the Middle Ages of the Ajuuran era.

I think most of the credit goes to the traders who came from other lands (with whom Somalis and other indeginous peoples from the hinterland traded)...

If you look beyond the Somali coast to the greater Indian Ocean trade, you will see that Mogadishu, Marka, Brava/Barawe, Kismayo etc were part of a chain of city states going all the way to Lamu, Malindi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilwa and all the way down to Sofala in Mozambique (and Zanzibar, looping back to Muscat/Oman and Indian ports in present-day India). Literally a ring of city states around the ocean front.

The unique thing about all these city states was they had a unique culture of intense mixing of people, races and languages with an Islamic identity leading to new identities defined by the cities e.g. Reer Xamar, Reer Marka, Reer Zanzibar, Reer City ZZZ and of course Arabic as the language of trade and government.

My family was kicked out of Mogadishu.

We were victims of a Darod pogrom/genocide.

But thanks to the Hutus we now all live in Western countries, like 95% of my extended family.
95% that's so sad you're barely Somali at this point like wtf when you go somalia you have barely no relatives there. But how like 95% in a somali family when there's hundred of us

Tbh I don't think anyone who is somali is actually 100% fullllllllly from the capital like..... I'd side eye anyone who claims all 4 grandparents are from the capital.

Mogadishu wasn’t part of the Swahili coast saxib. In ancient times it was known as Sarapion and the inhabitants were known to be tall and dark skinned “berbers”

Xamar was apart of the Somali city states who were leading trade in the antiquity and Middle Ages.

A simple good search would tell you this.

My entire family left Mogadishu and Somalia, literally every single one, only some went back for retirement.
Wow most of my relatives refused to leave idk why my grandma lived in Ethiopia with a cousin for a bit but left after a year she said she hates these people (idk why since they didn't do anything to her) and would rather die in Somalia. What can you do at that point alhamdulliah she's still alive but looks very young for her age compares to these cadaans here. They get shocked if you're 40 with no severe wrinkles daffuq. Tbh your lucky I don't have no cousins or family in the same country as me I envy others.

Those who live there carry Western citizenships, mostly baby-boomers who are there for retirment. Not folks who never left Somalia.

The Hutu chased us out of Mogadishu.
You said you're darood were you related to siad Barre or something
