Yh I'm not too familiar with his story, however it is interesting to see the effort he has put into learning jiddu. Maybe due to him being born in Kuntuwaarey he felt a obligation to contribute somehow.

It’s a sister language of Somali, not Somali but related. Different phonology and syntax and more resembling oromo tongue. Probably due to the fact that the oromos used to be present in those parts during the Middle Ages.
