When Somalilands and Somalia unite which clans and states will lose parliamentary members?

According to the 2014 undp data if the parliament is 275 members Somaliland should have 82 members 55 of which would be isaaq. Currently Isaaqs have 20 or so mp in the parliament but where not present at the arta conference to take their share. When you add up all Somaliland clans they have no more than 40 MPs in Somalia.

Which clans and states will be hit hardest by unity?

There will be unity but that type of unity where Isaaq sit in the same parliament with these southerners isn't going to happen ever!

It will be two Confederate states of FMS and Somaliland. The way these southerners divide themselves internally is up to them

What benefit does that have for isaaq? Forget this siege mentality.

The legislative capital will be moved to hargeisa while the executive capital will be in Mogadishu like South Africa.

I have no interest in the Hawiye-Darood squabbles.I have more important things to do once I get access to the international financial markets and international companies will not have to worry about investing in SL.Darood-Hawiye will continue to be dysfunctional for the foreseeable future

I don’t see this happening anytime soon or at all for that matter. Somaliland have already left the union and been independent for nearly 30 years. There is no union and there is no going back, it’s too late for that now, end of.

I highly doubt it’ll happen as there’s no clear unity in this south. Plus Isaaqs would not want to join Somalia.

I think if the Italian Somalia region was united and thriving with no safety issues then maybe it would’ve tempted Somaliland.

Good job in naming two tribes. If darood was truly dysfunctional the talks that villa hargeisa and villa somalia enjoy would’ve never taken place.

and if we truly going to talk about dysfunctional how about the roads in your capital or better yet how about the annual floods in your capital, or that your president steals land in your capital.

don’t start this game if you are not capable of defending your peoples honour.

Isaaq have far more honor then the Darood who invite foreign armies to fight their tribal battles against fellow Somalis.Darood are the cancer of the Somali, as long as the cancer is not removed.I will not join this dead corpse called the Somali Republic

That is properly 10 years away. The safety issue in Somalia has steadily improving since 2011. Somaliland won't get Independence so they will have to settle for the next best thing which is an autonomous region within the federal system.

Yeah sl never truly left the union, since villa hargeisa communicates with the fgs through shady and shadowy institutions.

the right term is acting ,y’all like to act like an country, however y’all are still part of somalia.

does breakaway region of somalia ring a bell?
Or does it Go against the cult indoctrination

You want to be a Kurdistan. What intrest is that for a clan that makes almost a quarter of the population of Somalia. Somalinimoda markad iska saartiid waa caynkaas.

The Kurdistan model you’re thinking of is nothing short of being a darood/hawiye colony with no rights in the world. All agreements will be contingent on Somalia as they can just renegade. We will not get our share of somalia and our time to lead the country as a whole aswell.

South Somalia is not a monolith like Somaliland isn’t a monolith. There are different tribes who have different alliences with different tribes.

This is just a talking point landers use when they know unity is in their intrests but don’t want to admit it. So just stall the debate with somalia is failed. Nigga you are apart of the failed somalia and will suffer with Somalia as long as it’s failed so you might aswell put some effort in to fix it.

I don’t think the Somaliland-Somalia issue will ever get resolved by internal negotiations. if it could it would’ve happened by now.

On the Somalia progression it’s doing better but it’s still a long way from being a fully stable united country.

Why are you lot talking about this issue like it’s still up for grabs, there is no unity that ship have sailed long time ago, no going back.
No one in their right mind would entertain the idea of unity again and millions of lander would rather fight, then give up their independence again. It’s that simple people.

This isn’t about monolithism as countries who are more ethnically diverse than us get along and work together united look no further at our neighbors Kenya.

I’m actually being a neutral as I have family ties to both sides and it’s actually in every Somalis best interest to see Somalis in general dining well as we’re a laughing stock right now.

All I’m saying Is Southetners for time being should just focus on themselves and rebuilding the Italian Somalia. Then and only then can Unity/Secessionist dispute talks should resume. Hopefully it’d be a positive outcome where both sides are satisfied.

If my rationale thinking offended you then I’m sorry but that’s how I see genuine change

But it is not that simple. The situation is much more complex.
