when people ask "what are you?" do you say somali or somali american/canadian/british etc?

Das right, if I say I'm Somali, they become suspicious. If I say I'm Anglo, they start sucking me off.
I tested this out, in one class I was in, I said I was from Somalia and they had blank faces and just moved on to the next person.

In another class with different people, I said I was British, and instantly I had people come up to me, be super friendly and I got invited to eat out with a group of girls.

Wallahi most people in the world are whor.es for Western passports:francis:

What do they think of your accent? Just by speaking they respect me more.

If you have no accent, people know you’re American. When they ask where you’re from they’re trying to figure out your ethnic background. I tell people I’m Somali and likewise if I meet someone Hispanic or indhoyar I’ll ask the same to know what their background is.

I'm not in the UK. Obviously I won't say I'm British in the UK, I'll just say I'm Somali.

When you're abroad, people will think you're a qaxooti if you say you're from Somalia, whereas you will get much better treatment in terms of jobs/opportunities in professional environments if you say you're British, and people will generally assume the best about you because most people in the world envy the West.

But, if I'm around my friends, I'll just say I'm Somali.
Hmmm the only non-western countries I’ve been to see african and arab ones so Somali worked out alright

Americans have accents.

lmao, my brum accent isn't that prominent thankfully. It only shows if I speak quickly

Because you were on vacation. Live in the UAE or Qatar with a Somali passport and see how well they'll treat you, and compare that with a Somali with a Western passport and compare the differences in quality of life.

I’d rather not live in the UAE. It was good for like a week but after that pretty boring.
