His mother reminds me SO MUCH of my own mother... Actually all Somali mothers I know maa shaa Allah. Only our hooyo's know the definition of tough love. Look how furious she is, trying to talk some sense into him, giving him dawah and roasting him at the same time.

But while he was looking in the fridge my mom stepped in the kitchen. She closed the door and told him to come over to her. They were on the 2 different sides of the kitchen table. My little brother refused. So she started chasing him around the table. After i few rounds my mom got tired. She turned the lights off. And my lil brother tried to crawl under the table to get out. But my mom saw him so she whooped him with the belt. He was screaming
"Allah hooyo, iga rali ahow".

Anyway, we were jumping on the couch using it as a trampoline. Until, I tried to slam him on the couch I completely missed and ended up throwing from into the tv table, fracturing some of his ribs and destorying our beloved wooden table in the faadi. Needless to say, my ass still hurt to this day.

I have never in my life had any sort of suicidal tendencies, not really, but in those moments when hooyo hit me with a wire, I would prefer death to the pure pain that my body is experiencing
Don't do the opposite of what your parents want, kids, otherwise you will be begging for death

I wasn't whooped, but i got locked up in a dark room once, and I was scared of the dark, so I lifted up the mattress and spent the night between the bed frame and the mattress. My mom came into the room early morning to check up on me, she didn't see me on the bed, so she starts screaming, mom thought I was kidnapped, mom was shocked to see me crawl out under the mattress, she hugged me so tight I almost stopped breathing.

Locking me up in the stoodhka was also one of Hooyo her punishments, because there was no light. Alhamdulilaah I wasn’t scared of the dark, so I was just chilling and acting like I was afraid AF when she checked up on me because I just wanted to get out of that damn place.
