Masjid al qiblatayn is one of the world's oldest mosques
Probably the oldest in africa
It has 2 qiblas making it obvious that it was already there before the qiblah was changed
Not 12th century but 7th century

how can it have 2 qiblas when Makkah and Jerusalem are in the same direction from Somalia, the mosque has a minaret when minaret were first built in the 9th century. the only true early mosque in Africa is Eritrea

Jerusalem is slightly more northwest of Mecca. the results of a french team that went to the city to do some archeology & research.
In the paper they noted that although the Masjid is largely in ruins the two separate qiblas are still discernible.

We undoubtedly got one of the oldest mosques in the world

The two Mihrabe are easily explainable. To this day, they're still arguing about the exact direction of the Qibla(Makkah) in GalMudug, what do you think about 1k years ago???

Association fallacy at it's finest

Why would the 2 mihrab in al qiblatayn be towards Jerusalem and the other on mecca?
Obviously means that they were praying towards Jerusalem then change it towards mecca brother.
And it's a mosque, it's very unlikely to be built towards the unknown there's purpose of mihrab.
Those brothers probably were lost and wanted to pray the salah at it's time or another thing

2. There is no proof that Zeyla or the Somali coast was part of Axum, certainly the court of the Abyssinian Negus wasn't in Zeyla.
3. Why would the Sahaba when they sailed from the Hijaz coast travel to Zeyla instead of the closer Suakin, Massawa or Adulis?
4. The Salat was made obligatory in the year 621 AD, and the Hijra was in the year 613 AD, so the Muslims didn't need any Mosque.....

, the sahaba probably crossed through adulis first then came to zeila later.
