Lets not drag each other down. Just get a degree enjoy a few years in the west, tavel the world and lets meet back up in the horn and make it a powerful region. If we form a union are are united as brothers then all our enemies will have a hard time trying to mess with us. I want the horn to overtake the gulf countries in the next 30 yrs. It's a shame my parents might not get to see our land in it's best state but my children sure as hell will.

I've started off with a small goal and that's to go back home and start or co- found an NGO that focuses on re-greening the horn of africa.

Nice goal bro! It is achievable, China is doing a great job about it. We can learn few things from them.
And also, we are lucky that our deserts are not like those deserts in the Arabian Peninsula.
We have rocks and few plants and we can turn it into a green land! It is possible, but Somalis should of course unite and work !

Yes our land is semi arid in most parts and that's mostly due to overgrazing causing water to run off and not refilling aquifers. Also the cutting down of trees has had a profound effect on rainfall patterns. I believe if we control grazing and plant more trees we can have an increased amount of rainfall all year round and can cool the the climate slightly. We can also work our land and restore it's water absorbing ability so that less of our water can run off into the ocean.

I have a small land back home and we cultivate many vegetables, and our animals are goats. We need to take care of the land and start a better industry, unlike developed countries that used a lot of their lands! now their lands are poorer and poorer!
I wish many good things for Somalis.

We are blessed in a way because we get to develop with new technology and cheaper methods of providing energy for our country. This means we don't have to make the same mistakes as other countries and can develop beautiful cities for a cheaper cost. For example here they had to replace lead pipes used in the sewage system and water system with new pipes that last longer and don't produce lead poisoning. We as an undeveloped country get to learn from their mistakes and start on a fresh slate when building our sewer systems and it will cost us much less since these new pipes are cheaper.

We can also unlike many other countries build earthquake proof buildings from the get go using cheap materials rather than building conventional buildings and having to spend more money in future rebuilding them should an earthquake ever happen.

I'll write a book about this! Africans need a slap in the face.

Finally @4head hypocrisy come to Semiarase that place in Djibouti has a lot of Habesha/Foreign prostitution and a lot of Oromo think Djibouti is ideal but a place of begging.
No need to start on you but have you ever been to Djibouti beside Haramous and Balbala. Djibouti barely rains but it rains a decent amount in Somaliland
Look at these parts to see the truth0:29 0:42 poor housing
0:58 Oromo scum
2:30 Poverty stricken
