Indeed . It's personal interests for guys like this and everyone knows it.
All of this is because of Deni's refusal to hold a grand shir to decide what the relationship between Puntland and SSC should be. He refused to build SSC and failed to consult with Warsangeli to see if they would like to join the new state.
Puntland has completely failed, and continues to fail, to take advantage of the immense political opportunity created by Somaliland's defeat. I strongly regret having supported the reelection of Deni. Guuleed Saalax Barre would never have allowed things to get this bad. My hatred of Deni is giving me heartburn walahi. I have never despised anyone more than him.

Making SSC a viable state and thwarting secession is more important than any conflict Puntland has with koonfur. I literally don't care what SSC do or say as long as they have a strong army capable of defeating Somaliland. I don't care if they side with Culusow or if they hold his bs election in Lascaanood.
I only care about making sure we have a boot on the neck of Somaliland and its secession project.
Why do you treat Somaliland as some kind of powerful existential threat? We’ve seen what they are made of in Goojacade. All talk, they run like Mo Farah when the fighting gets serious.

While Goojacade was a major defeat, what else has SSC done since then? All their other minor battles have failed such as their attack on Ceerigaabo. The momentum from Goojacade has clearly slowed down. Somaliland may not be as powerful as they were in 2007 but it doesn't mean they are weak, they are probably preparing another campaign to Sanaag. The question is will SSC and Puntland be ready?
U gotta put yourself in Deni shoes. Why would he do this and change up constitution. There is no scenario where there will be amicable split. There is no seccesion clause in Puntland constitution. Sanaag and sool have been defacto outside Puntland control for long time. Same people who upset khatumo approaching Sanaag had nothing to say about cerigabo or when somaliland tests and elections where pushed on region. Deni hands are tied so is khatumo like all divorces will be messy. Border and constitution changes means big implication for future allocation of aid power sharing and worth of constitution. this is what people really upset about

It's impossible to build a state there that is not aligned with either Somaliland or Puntland. Because it will have no trade links at all. If it is the enemy of both then no port or goods will get in.
If any kind of conflict emerges out of there towards Puntland the final road will be blocked off and that will be that.
It's a pipe dream like landing 600 troops in Jubbaland. The party got shut down quickly.
We will see Hirshabelle and KGS really don have ports they also taxed by shabab and still survive off fgs . Odds definitely stacked against khatumo. Ideally issues with puntland resolved and together negotiate better deals with fgs on future of country but seems to many issues and roadblocks. Smalller and smaller FMSs is easier to push around

Somaliland is a soveriegn state that entered into a failed union. That's that.
You guys are playing go for broke politics but Somaliland is a settled issue. It's not up for grabs. HSM can't do anything. All his backers will fry him if he tries some power move like that.
