Because of my birth year ( 1994 ), every year coincided with my grade in school.

2000 was kindergarten and 2006 was grade 6, etc.

So starting grade 10 in high school was the fall of 2009, and Jan 2010 for the remaining school year and what not.

I truly miss the early 2000’s and mid 2010s.
