Clan is not a problem in Somalia .. two men from two different qabiil can be best mates and won’t have any problems until politics comes to play.

our issue is not clan and territory, everyone knows where everyone’s territory is....

Our issue is politics..

OG MJ and Abgaal have same politics today tomorrow they could have different politics ...

isaaq and MJ today are opposing flags but if somaliland enters Somali politics they most likely have the same interests and seek each other’s support on many issues..

Somali problems is bad politics where one has to gain all and the other has to loose all in order for day to have been productive..
There is no win win situation..

Clan is the biggest divisive factor back home but it's mixed with politics.
For example I doubt the average MJ hates HG folks in south Gaalkacyo and vice versa, yes they may have conflicts but it's not like they despise each other. Same with other rival clans. When you mix clan with politics it becomes a different and much worse issue

LoL you can't seriously believe this
Are Darood one ethnic tribe? Or maybe MJ is an ethnicity? Oh wait maybe MJ subclans are their own ethnicity. Damn, turns out each somali individual can claim to be his own separate ethnic tribe.:damn::drakelaugh:
How can one explain why we cant agree on anything? Surely its should be simple for a homogenous people who supposedly share ethnicity, language, Daqaan and religion to function in 2021

.:dabcasar: Darood? Nah sxb, i am a proud ethnic MJ man

darood, Hawiye, dir, isaaq etc are one ethnic group. Many people have homogeneous ethnic groups and tribes that don't get along.
In order to be separate ethnicities we should have : different ancestry and dna origin, different languages, radically different cultures. We have non of that. We have the same ancestry, somalis cluster together like nobody does in the horn of africa, we speak one language with few exceptions like maay and we have the sane culture with minor differences

A Tribe isn't an ethnicity. Peninsular Arabs have tribes, but they are still all arabs
Difference between tribe and clan is very simple, members of a clan have a common ancestry or strong belief in that, a tribe has nothing to do with ancestry but is rather to do with common language, identity, culture etc

difference between Somalis and Arabs, most Somalis I speak to believe they have common ancestry, while Arabs do not believe they have common ancestry. Research on anthropology and genetics also reveal that Arab tribes are not comparable to Somali clans.

in conclusion, Somalis are arguably 1 clan with various subclans and factually 1 tribe unique and seperate from other neighboring african and asian tribes.

Somalia problem is not clannism, it is politics, we need to build a nation, other nations see us a potential threat and play on our lack of self awareness and clannist nature to curb the potential threat by turning us against each other for starters but also by laying down political frameworks that is like a hole we can't crawl out from.

Kenya wanting to put Alshabab on a specific terror list is one of such political frameworks, Alshabab is already on a terror list by the way.

Anyway I have said too much.
