We ran over a baby baboon when I visited the homeland. The driver didn't care. The guy was either high off khat or intently looking to get some in the next destination.Oh and I think have seen lots of Baboons in Somalia.

Wholesome comment, I must say.They fled due to the war and migrated to Kenya. They’re coming back, especially elephants because they have good memory and remember the routes.
I just saw your comment. Do you remember when you saw the cheetah. Was it the same month/year you posted this? I am working on a survey of Puntland's wildlife.I saw a cheetah hunting down a warthog while on the road between Garowe and Gaalkacyo, for what it's worth.
Also, every now and then I saw ostriches and these tiny gazelles.
