OP, I consider myself Somali even when others consider me black. Somalis never considered themselves anything but Somali, this whole concept of identifying as black is very new to us. For example, Somalis back home would refer all bantus as black but we dont consider the other horners or Sudanese black. I am honestly pretty satisfied with just identifying as Somali and I also check other and write Somali.
