Somalis are linguistically divided into two groups, Af Maxaa Tiri which is spoken by everyone and Af MaayMaay which is spoken mainly in South western Somalia by the Raxanweyn tribe. I can't understand Af MaayMaay but I could understand every dialect of Af Maxaa Tiri which is the standard Somali everyone speaks.

That's incorrect. There's not much mutual intelligibility between the two languages. And it's a matter of heavy politics around the world not just Somalia.

That's why 100% identical languages like Persian are called farsi in Iran, dari in Afghanistan, tajik in Tajikistan.

Or why Mandarin, Cantonese and other Min languages are considered the same Chinese language. But they're more internally diverse than Latin derived (considered separate) languages such as Portuguese, Romanian, French, etc.

It's bullshit, Maay maay is a different language than Somali.
