The obsession of “Landers” is not normal

Every video regarding Somali content, these people are in the comment section attacking Somalia and spewing hatred. It’s crazy. I saw a video about Nairobi celebrating Somali independence day and most the comments were idoors claiming Kenya needs to be deport them from their country, there was a video about a Kenyan showing Somali flats being built and these idoors are saying that Somalians are using corruption money to buy these flats.

Like look at this monkey looking idoor, he sees somalis making jokes about visiting mogadishu 2026 and he makes a video saying don’t go mogadishu there is al shabab come to Hargeisa WTF? He’s wishing for the death of diaspora somalis hoping they get killed. Why don’t these people rest?

They remind me of Israelis so much. A brainwashed cult. On this forum they don’t leave us alone, everywhere we go they follow us and attack us and run to ajnabis to tarnish the Somali name even popularising “”, making fake translations to help right wing white supremacists attack Somalis in power.

Their parents have successfully brainwashed them. They told them were their enemies and thts why they act like this. Everytime something bad happens in xamar they are the first to celebrate. This was dofar mohamed bk being happy about qarax in xamar and saying tht if they dont want anymore qarax tht somaliland should be independent. This was a day after people lost their lives.

I would honestly just ignore it. Social media tends to amplify the most extreme voices and makes people appear more irrational than they really are.

Any mentally well-adjusted Reer Waqooyi understands that other Somalis are their brothers. Attacking them is, in essence, attacking yourself. Some may run around online engaging in delusions of division , just as certain factions in other regions do but it doesn’t change the underlying reality on the ground: they are economically, socially, and politically interlinked with the rest of Somalia. Even diplomatically, the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) remains the only recognized entity, and decisions in Mogadishu continue to affect all regions, including theirs.

What Somalia is dealing with today is not tribalism in a sense, it’s more like factionalism.

The ongoing pursuit of recognition has gone nowhere for over 30 years. Continuing down that road by undermining Somalia will not lead to success, it only deepens the Somalilands political isolation. What is to be gained if the rest of the country remains unstable or collapses? The idea that instability elsewhere somehow benefits one region is deeply misguided. Spamming this rhetoric of ''qarax land and failed state" everywhere is not only counterproductive but also reflects a lack of cohesive identity especially for a group seeking recognition based on supposed national distinctiveness. If your main point of difference is that another region is facing a militant insurgency, then that’s hardly a foundation for a separate national identity.

It comes back to what i said in another thread:
I completely agree the instability in Mogadishu and the south has created serious bottlenecks that affect the entire country, including Puntland and Somaliland. But the answer isn’t political separation it’s deeper, more coordinated political integration, where regions work together to push for governance reform and structural change at the center.
We already operate like a single economic space. There is a level of trust and cooperation in trade and society that doesn’t yet exist in our politics and that’s what needs to change.
Finally, I think both Puntland and Somaliland should also own their share of the past. They’ve played roles in shaping Somalia’s current trajectory, including the dynamics in Mogadishu. In many ways, they’re now grappling with the consequences of that. Rebuilding requires honesty, not just blame.

What I ultimately hope for is a Somali political union something akin to the European Union where each region maintains local autonomy but operates as part of a unified whole under security, policy and economic agreements. That vision is not only realistic but necessary for long term stability and prosperity.

Insulting on both sides isn't necessary and is divisive. Furthermore, there's no point in celebrating an "independence day" on the 18th May, 26th June or on the 1st July. What is there to celebrate? The entire somali peninsula is a shithole

They celebrate both independence and the union between the north and south major milestones our people struggled and sacrificed for.

The Somali Peninsula is developing and transforming, despite the challenges. Yes, we may have political differences, but that doesn’t make it a “shithole.” Reducing everything to that kind of negativity ignores the resilience, progress, and potential across the region.

but it doesn’t change the underlying reality on the ground:
While its true that all Somali regions are interlinked in some manner, some are less so than others. Somaliland is practically a de facto country in itself since it has its own currency, passport and manages its own foreign policies separate from FGS, and while its true that its quest for recognition hasn't been successful, that doesn't stop it from becoming more and more economically and politically independent as the years go by.
What is to be gained if the rest of the country remains unstable or collapses?
Think of this from the perspective of a secessionist, it is in their interest for Somalia to remain unstable and weak since it grants their movement more time strengthen itself and move closer towards recognition however slow it may be. Its for that exact reason why Eritrea and South Sudan, two countries that fought for over 30 years, gained a lot from their host countries (Ethiopia and Sudan) being unstable since they wouldn't have gotten independence without it. This is admittedly all very cynical but it makes sense.
. If your main point of difference is that another region is facing a militant insurgency,
Most will claim that Somaliland identity has existed since the early-mid 20th century predating Somalia itself as its roots lie with British Somaliland. That is why Somaliland claims to be the successor of the 1960 Somaliland state.

Also dont forget that Al shabaab winning or FGS falling and the south plundging into chaos again means somaliland and puntland will certainly get recognition, so i understand where this is coming from by hardcore SL patriots
