Tribal preferences are mostly to please your parents. It's so stupid.
My father does not like Isaaqs even though his reer abti are Isaaq. But I don't think he'd mind me marrying one.
He despises Daroods though and wants nothing to do with them, so looks like they're not really an option for me.
My mom has told me flat out not to marry a Madhiban person. So looks like me and @Jake from State Farm could never work out.
