Preferences are socially conditioned, and imo reflect ones psyche and how they view the world, more importantly themselves. Everything from social habits/company, to past dating habits (races), to opinions about what is deemed attractive (white/asian over black for instance) are very telling. It is a damn accurate barometer for many things.
