westernisation & duty of a man in Islam

I am curious, as I just finished my morning workout, see if you could indulge me in a bit of an intelligent repartee. Let us put your preferences in faith, and dating to aside for a moment, for I believe those are your prerogatives, what is your relationship with men in your family: specifically father, uncles, older brothers & cousins etc?
I love my father, he's a determined and intelligent man. He's always put me my two older sisters and mom first, he made sure we got the right education to succeed in life. I'm very grateful to him, as he is big part of my life. I don't have any brothers but I used be very close to my awoowe from back home when he was still alive.

When I critise somali men, I am not saying all somali men are bad. I'm simply acknowledging the big amount of niman who are useless to the community and should be hold accountable instead of being sugar-coated.

That’s so sweet to hear abayo, literally me & other somalis kids back in middle school used to argue about who had the worst dad.

braindead take. Do you actually think like this?

The west also had the greatest quality of life in the 1950s, but they still had morals and the vast majority of them were religious Christians. I and many other muslims would love to live in a society like that.

meanwhile today the west still has the best quality of life, but they lost all morals and are degenerates. Kids as young as 12 having their breasts chopped off and literal 7 year olds on puberty blockers. Increasing divorce rates, STD rates, and the complete abandonment of Abrahamic values.

The gulf countries, singapore, and eastern europe also have good qualities of life, and retain their morals unlike the west. Many muslims live in and move to these countries.

Do you think in order to have a high quality functioning society, you need to abandon all religious morals? What's the point of your argument?
that society was also extremely intolerant to other religions and races, as much as you would love to live in such a society, you wouldn't be able to at least not as comfortable as you live in today's society

the weak religious revival in the 50s was followed by the swinging sixties which saw massive liberal reforms which abandoned abrahamic values; divorce and abortion was legalised, death penalty abolished

you don't need to abandon religious morals to have a high quality functioning society, but its a correlation not a coincidence that the best functioning societies are politically secular- like Singapore which you mentioned

I had to delete tiktok, I was literally on the verge of kuffar AGAIN bcs of the bs some muslim men say. I realise that each time I interact with one too may muslims I start disliking the deen. Which is crazy bcs when I keep to myself I find praying & reading Quran alot easier.

If the only Somali man you know and have contact with is your dad then how can you speak on us? In all honesty you left the deen and Somaliniimo why do you even care about us? this aint a mutual relationship you got with us because we dont care about you.

Thank you. In real life, What has been your experience with Somali men, be it dating, or friendships? Not online forums.

I don't have a personal feelings against somali men, as that would be unfair since I haven't met many in real life. My anger mostly stamps from the current state of our country and seeing so many somali children and women facing cruel conditions due to the horrible choices of the men in our community.

Read what I said above, I don't care about you "caring" about me in fact I much rather prefer you not thinking of me at all. I only care about our country functioning well, and the men in our community fulfilling their duties instead of acting like lady-boy's and gossiping about women.

Thank you again. See, I could not agree more, even if I wanted to, and as men, no group senses worse as to the awful state of our failed nation, impoverished people, and lost generations, for we solely are responsible for our national failures.

To rebuild is much harder than to destroy, and though we do not admit, we are slaves of circumstance at the moment, and beholden to evil forces. We shall rebuild no matter how long it takes.

In the interim, how about instead of lambasting each other, we correctly diagnose contributing factors begetting ills, core issues, and concerns facing us as a nation, and work together on befitting solutions? Would that not be the right course of action?

These secular countries are riding on the work done by their religious predecessors. Most if not all western countries were mostly religious right until 30 years ago, advocating for lgbts would have been political suicide. Even if the political system was secular, it still was influenced by religion.

Its not so simple that secular system = succes, otherwise vast majority of the world countries (who happen to be secular) would be succesful. Clearly there is other reasons for the success of western countries. Also Singapore owes its success to Lee Kuan Yew, who controlled the country for 3 years.

There's a huge amount of people in the west who aren't happy where the west is heading to. Whether it is the pandemic, LGBTQ, pronouns , climate change , inflation etc.
The truth is that the west is changing & there's no problem with voicing your concerns .

@malab unlike you recent immigrant, majority of us are born & raised here .

Wait @malab were u born & raised in africa or the middle east?

@malab
See, when we engage in mature conversations, listen to each other, and exchange meaningful ideas, we could move in unison.

Do bear in mind, mostly young lads here, are not trully men, or representative of men, and do not really even know what being a man, a gentleman that is, trully entails.

In my experience, in here, on sSpot, was the first place I have ever seen where supposed grown men, in a passe way, would slag off, or even belittle Somali ladies. It is definitely not a Somali culture, at least not one I am familiar with, but ladies, that is not to say, you should take that to mean we men are like that - I know you do not, but sometimes it comes across as such.

Believe me when I say this, we are so trully ashamed of ourselves, have failed you, and are evil, we know, but we are trying. Say it once, and let us not speak of it.
