It seems like a lot of Somali youth on the West Coast had a pretty good life compared to those of us in the Midwest, like Ohio and Minnesota. I can't help but feel a bit jealous, not in a bad way though, as I see their parents and communities creating a nice environment. Where I grew up, violence and drugs were common, with too many funerals for friends lost. I've noticed their parents helping out with weddings, even though I personally think the guy should handle that. Despite the perks, there are downsides, like some of them not really experiencing real struggles and sometimes trying to act tough despite growing up in a wealthy setting. Plus, some are less religious, which is different from the strong religious influence in our Midwest community.

I heard that the Somali community in San Diego used to have a gang problem back in the 90s but I don’t think it’s like that anymore
Idk much about the Seattle diaspora, but I’ve heard that they were better off financially speaking than most of the other US diasporas

Like i said everything got so expensive in america in a short amount of time. Big cities got hit. You can still live there but you probably need roommates or if you want to get married you will probably want to do 50/50.

oh OK yeah I remember there was a dude that one 2 billion dollars and purchased 50 million dollars mansion in LA and everyone under comment section thought he was crazy and said all the tax will eat up his money and should leave. I was confused but now you make sense.
Yeah you can live California, just maybe live in cities neighboring the big cities. 1 hour drive distance.
