We should definitely negotiate with Al-shabaab, the country is in the middle of a famine, no place is safe. Food aid should be delivered no matter what.

Longterm, we should give amnesty to al-shabaab foot soldiers and imprison/kill the leaders. This way we can neutralise Al-shabaab.

If they didn’t negotiate in 2009 I don’t think they will negotiate now. The only time I believe a negotiation will happen is when they are fully defeated and their top heads taken to the graveyard then we will be able to negotiate with their remaining cells. Otherwise it’s unlikely.

If all somalis united on the elimination of al shabaab from Gaalkacyo to Raskambooni they would be eliminated in a couple of months. It really isn’t that hard. Develop an intelligence infrastructure and work with a strong drone capable military/country.

The foot soldiers are disorganised, not many and haven’t got much ability to fight the SNA. We truly love half assing things
