Interestingly Somalis have always been fractured and adversarial against each other for most of known history. It’s only with the SYL attempt at building a nation did we see a new nationalistic outlook revolving around the Somali identity rather than a clan family. So what we saw during the civil war and to lesser degree today is the true Somali identity manifesting. It’s really disturbing when you think about it.

Nobody sees Eritrea and Ethiopia as distinct. Everyone perceives Eritrea as Ethiopia pt2. Nobody thinks about Djibouti at all and when they do they perceive it as an off brand Somalia. I mean are you disputing the claim? Somali history is rife with clan conflict which is well know. How could the civil war after the removal of MSB be sum up as anything other then a massive clan against clan conflict. Tell me how I'm retarded? Is a identity not related to the customs of a people?
