As a political force on the global stage, the concept of the Ummah is dead. It's been dead since the Arab revolt against the Ottomans, where Arab leaders chose English and French masters over backing the Ottomans. You can argue they had all rights to govern themselves and I agree. However the fools made a deal with cold blood animals that neither cared if they lived or died. Their lands were butchered and the modern boarders were formed where conflict would be endless.
Was it wort it?
I look around everyday I contemplate what if the men that made deals with the west had not gained power. What if the destructive ideology of wahabbism had not taken a strangle hold over Arabia. What would the world look like. Perhaps not utopian but I wager it has to better than where we are now.
