The next thing you know is people start owning real estate housing and make Somalia like South Africa, where all the white men moved to when they saw how rich it was behind the scenes. i.e Sharing information about somalia resources and secrets could potentially lead to exploitation by foreign entities, which could further exacerbate existing inequalities and harm the Somali people

Imagine being a madow women seeing all the men from your part of the world thirsting after anything that isn’t you, it’s gotta hurt pretty bad.

I'm not against tourism I'm just against doing it and just relying on it. Tourism should be the last thing when it comes to developing our countries economy not something we should be relying on.

I am very thankful people with your ideas are not in power. Even NK has tourism, but you can only go if you book with a guide and stay at designated hotels. As long as the tourist women are made to wear hijab, no alcohol is allowed, and people can only follow a tour guide then what you are saying will happen will not. Somalia is set to join the EAC soon and the ideas you propose are against the spirit of the organization and defeat the purpose of open borders. May Allah protect the nation from people like you who would seek to reject economic development out of stupidity. We are a Muslim country at the end of the day, anyone who comes to seek trouble they know what will happen to them. You worry too much.

Don't worry about that I intent to go back to somalia and play a part so if they don't exist now they definitely will start to exist. Who knows I may end up running the country one day:westbrookswag:

I don't understand what is so complicated for you to understand. If you want to mitigate the possibility of foreign tourists engaging in debauchery, there are measures that can be taken to prevent this. Also, you have this weird notion that a bunch of tourists are going to come like hyenas to spread their filth. At this stage, the country does not even have the infrastructure to support tourism at a large scale. But if someone wants to visit, they are more than welcome to. We are not going to stop them because @Javelin said so.

As for the EAC, you are confusing it with the EAF which is a pipe dream that will never happen. You are ignorant if you don't see the pros for Somalia. There is a reason why we have tried so hard to join. By integrating our economies, promoting free trade, and having open borders the bloc will reap many benefits for the member countries. An example let's say an African business makes products in a factory. Their raw materials can from the Congo, the factory will run on oil from South Sudan, the building can take place in Somalia, and it will finally be shipped out from a Kenyan port. This is the future of Africa. Interconnected economies, what most of the globalist world already does.

Lastly, don't ever compare Somalia to those Muslim countries. I find it insulting that you think Somalis are like Moroccans. Have you ever known Somali women to be known as prostitutes like them? Not to insult them, but we don't have that reputation. Those countries are run by deviants so of course their society is morally bankrupt. Very few nations take the deen as seriously as us.

I never said anything about stopping tourist why do I have to keep repeating myself:ohlord:

My main point was that our current reputation of being a dangerous place to visit is a good deterrent that we should be taking advantage of since it deters foreigners from visiting in general and setting themselves up over somalis in somalia with the capital they could bring over from there own countries leading to somalis being second class in there own country like many natives across Africa already are to Indians and white people. A single Indian family know as the gupta basically run south africa in the background when they are not native and neither a majority.

We need to focus on other things right now to uplift ourselves from poverty. As for your point on the eac. My whole point waa that it's not necessary to join because we can still reap those benefits without joining making joining that practically useless. Why join when we can get all that through diplomacy and the leverage we already have over these countries. Plus they need our ports to export all there stuff regardless. We can make money whilst having the benefits of joining without joining so why join is my point. I already stated that I'm pro connecting our economies but I'm thinking about it in a way that gets Somalia the best out come in all this.

As for your last point what you have to say on the matter doesn't really matter because Somalia is way poorer then morroco and tourism is morrocos biggest thing. Desperate times will lead to Desperate measures for the poor it doesn't matter how on deen you think the average somali is the people back home are definitely not like the diaspora. The deen is not taken as seriously by the youth back home compared to western somalis and that's the case for all Muslim countries And there diaspora. Your judging the people back home on the basis of how the non fobs are when it comes to deen.

You are worried about Somalia relying on tourism while being poor and I'm telling you that's not going to happen. It is impossible right now and in the near future due to the lack of infrastructure to support that. It's like you are making up scenarios in your head. The country can't even feed itself and you're talking about some random nonsense to be scared of.

Then you go on to complain about foreigners bringing in capital as if the nation would not benefit from foreign investment. Once we are safe soon and we let the world know we are ripe for business inshallah many investments come in. If a Ugandan wants to invest in the country and create jobs do you think the government is going to say "no we are scared of our citizens becoming second class". Be realistic.

Lastly, I don't know how you think diaspora youth are more religious than Somalis back home. I'm not sure if you've visited the country and maybe in Idoorland this is common for your people, but this is not the usual case. Whatever though, we will agree to disagree and not spam comments.

I'm from both sides of somalia and I'm talking on all of somalia not just "idoorland" we all are culturally the same the somalis fobs on all sides are the same and it's literally a fact that diasporas are more closer to deen amongst the youth when compared to the youth back home.

I'm looking at this all through the lens of the bigger picture and current trends and no I'm not against foreign investment I already addressed this in my first comment.

If we don't learn from the examples of those around us then we will be doomed to repeat there mistakes and that is what your advocating for.
