Have you tried helping him? How do you have the balls to mock him if you haven't even tried to figure out what's wrong with him? He's your father - please have some respect for him. He helped raise you, didn't he? Don't resent him; try to understand him from his perspective.

Perhaps he has some sort of mental problem that causes him to behave like this. You have a responsibility to interfere as his adult son.

Please tell your dad to at least pray everyday and fast. Basically do obligatory acts in Islam. Try to lecture your dad and warn him in the hereafter and send him Islamic reminders in af soomaali. Tell your dad to learn the quran and understand it. This is also an advice to everyone including me as no one is perfect.

I find that my father is actually useless.


He prays once a month (Ramadan)

Doesn't fast.

Sleeps all day

Judges others faith- pure hypocrite.

Works twice a week..( he never in his life worked full time).


Goes to the local coffee shop and talks about Somali politics


He's only 55.

Worked only two jobs since he came to America.

Taxi driver and Walmart worker.


He doesn't read Quran, but preaches calls others non Muslim etc.

Never home , always with his friends.


Pushes me and my siblings to do things we don't want.


Compares us to others.

Can't even make a cup a tea, too lazy to move.


And many more etc

Pardon? I'm not trying to excuse his father's behaviors; I'm merely trying to provide productive solutions so the OP can actually help his dad. I honestly don't think antagonizing him would do anything but create a more strained relationship.
