Sleeps all day

Judges others faith- pure hypocrite.

Works twice a week..( he never in his life worked full time).


Goes to the local coffee shop and talks about Somali politics


He's only 55.

Worked only two jobs since he came to America.

Taxi driver and Walmart worker.


He doesn't read Quran, but preaches calls others non Muslim etc.

Never home , always with his friends.


Pushes me and my siblings to do things we don't want.


Compares us to others.

Can't even make a cup a tea, too lazy to move.


And many more etc

Has he been diagnosed with PTSD or Depression? Most of the things you have stated cause these issues. seems like the issue has gone on for long time could be true. Pray for him my uncle used to be like this but i got him to go therapy for issues that he was dealing with. it wasn't over night but he became a new person. Don't give up on him even though he seems like a lost cause.

He is still your father remember how much Islam stresses the importance of respecting and being obedient to your parents. Just start by giving him reminders. At the end of the day if you have enough to eat and he doesn't impede you from practicing the deen or living. Its between him and Allah then.
