The eylo that i've seen online appears for most part a mix of somali and bantu origin. There is this somali touch found amongst them all to varying degree. The eylo young man in the video down below looks unmixed and appears to have robust features.

This haplogroup is prevalent among the pygamies (congo) and hadzaba (tanzania) hunter gatherer groups. Could be an assimilated Madowweyne from the Swahili coast slave trade or close related hunter gatherer group. Maybe we will need to find some pure somali eylo that are not mixed so we can see the difference.

They do actually Live a close distance from each other, so possible he’s an assimilated eylo.

Ps: The eylo of today is mostly Madowweyne anybody else noticed ?

The Eylo of Buur Heybe mainly practice agropastoralism. The ones that are hunter-gatherers don’t have a fixed abode and can be found hunting from Bakool to Mudug. There is an ongoing project that seeks to settle some of the Bakool Eylo in a settlement just outside of Hudur.
