Why is it that the Somalis in the UK don’t know f*ck all about Somalia and qabiil and shit compared to Somalis in America?

Here in the UK I can never make qabiil jokes with Somali people my age, they just call me qabilist or they don’t understand me at all. I have a mareexan friend who I called ilko yar once and he took it personal and thought I was insulting him. Meanwhile in America all my somali friends addressed me as darawiish.

In my 21 years of living I can count how many times I’ve been asked for my qabiil by somalis my age. Are u saying 2nd gen somalis ask you for your qabiil?

I am talking about second generation Somalis.

The reason in my opinion is because Somalis in the uk do not have a strong culture of their own nor do they stick with each other. They adopt everything from west africans and carribeans. However the Somalis in America do not even have non Somali friends, their social circles are all somali, their relationships are 99 % somali, etc. In the uk every other criminal revert with a silver tooth is married to a Somali girl. There is a lack of somalinimo in the uk.
