My point is if we adopted democracy even in sensirity sooner or later, we would have been a failed state. Because the opposition would not recognise the results. Democracy doesn't even work in China. It inky works in Liberal societies.

This is a cope at best. Everything Somalis dreamed off (writing scripts, unification, democracy) had already existed in Arabia for a long time, with Somalis half-assing every single one of their goals.
Furthermore Arabia is a large place with a huge discrepancy in lifestyle so although you had places like aden that was on par if not worse than Somalia you had other places vastly better.

Come again? All of those things existed in Somalia too for centuries. We literally used the Arabic script since the Middle Ages. That's why I said the cultures are similar. The same level of monarchy, pastoral democracy, writing and technology existed to a degree that is often uncanny when I look back at the late medieval and early modern histories of both regions and yet Somalis did undeniably take a more impressively intellectual path than 90% of Arabia.
