They claimed that they have already spent enough on Bebera port and can't afford to build a separate airport for Berbera, the Emirates also failed to set up any type of military base at Berbera airport as they were supposed to, the Berbera corridor they where supposedly to finish will also not be funded any more, sad state of affairs Walahi.:snoop:

Didn’t SL get the worst share from that crap deal of only 30%? The only winners are the rich emirates who are looking for non-petroleum related ventures.

So why did they just leave

The port and the Berbera corridor is still being worked on.

The port expansion have brought real developments to Berbers and Somaliland.

They spent 1.5bn and plan to spend another billion in extension and infrastructure.

You're dodgy YouTube video or website is just baseless claims with no evidence.
But you believe it only believe it' because it's Anti SL.

I would wait for a press release directly from DP rather than some obscure Somali news website before I jump to conclusions.

In the video, A Somaliland government official is talking about this, what more confirmation is needed? Regardless, Somaliland only has a 30% share of their own port, that's a colossal failure to start with.

Those are billion dollar deals.

Those are billion dollar deals.

Global marine terminal operator DP World is set to strengthen its grip on regional port operations by acquiring Sokhna Port in Egypt for $670 million.

DP World awarded 30-year concession for the South Container Terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port

Under the agreement, DP World will invest up to $500 million to improve and modernise the Jeddah Islamic Port, including major infrastructure development to enable the Port to serve the ultra-large container carriers (ULCC’s), which are considered the world’s largest mega containerships.

DP World has signed a 20-year concession agreement with the Government of Angola to operate the Multipurpose Terminal (MPT) at the Port of Luanda.
Under the agreement, DP World will invest US$190 million over the 20-year period of the concession, with plans to rehabilitate the existing infrastructure and acquire new equipment to bring operations in line with global standards and improve the efficiency of the MPT, as part of the broader aim of increasing the terminal’s annual throughput to approximately 700,000 TEUs per year.

DP World said on Sunday it had won a 30-year management and development concession for a greenfield, multi-purpose port in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

An initial $350 million will be invested to construct a 600-metre quay and a 25-hectare yard extension with a container capacity of 350,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) and 1.5 million tons for general cargo.

DP World’s P&O Ports wins contract for Puntland port

The approximate investment for the modern multi-purpose facility will be USD $336-million divided into two phases: USD $136 million (approx. AED500m) for Phase 1 and USD$ 200 million (approx. 745m) for phase 2.

Berbera will be fine.

The highlighted area is what DP world added to Berbera port. They invested so little and will have 51% stake whereas Somaliland will only have 30% and Ethiopia 19%. DP spent chump change on this port and will now be managing/getting majority of the profits for the next 30 yrs.

I always laugh whenever I see khaatheads of Sspot boasting about this port as if getting taken advantage of is something to boast about. Ceeb badanaa.

Punanians love the clickbait sensational threads. Nowhere does it say the port or the corridor is being halted :pachah1: The deal was estimated at 500 million and DP world has already spent 1.5B so they're trying to find out how to accommodate a air cargo zone and commercial flights. Of course a guy from Bosaaso, Puntland region of Somalia wouldn't understand. His deal with DP world's auxiliary company P&O ports was killed when his Mj terrorist ISIS cousins in Bari shot Paul Anthony Farmosa
