American style law, its the senates choice just like its the jury’s choice in court no matter the evidence
You are right in the sense that Mitch Mc'onnell's leadership of the Senate for the past decade turned Congress into lawless arena where what One man wants became the law. In the old days, the senate and the house members both respected the law even if they knew the outcome wouldn't favour them on an issue they had to deal with legally. Their sense of duty was stronger before Obama showed up and insensed the racial republicans. . Tea party was formed out of the hate groups, all of them white and evangelicals except one self-hater from florida. No suprirse there. Rest is history and American institutions suffered fast under their leadership in congress. Then Trump came along who started his campaing questioning Obama's citizenship. Trump is finishing it.
Senate is supposed to hold trial now. Mitch, the senate leader will be part of the Jurors delivering a verdict. He is on TV already declaring what side he is on and saying this issue is partisan. He wants to convince Americans the senate trial outcome depends on the partisan spirit already and supposedly in existence in congress. This never happened before. And in a normal court of law, jurors do not do that. At least they can not be on the jury after they announce whose side they are on in a trial they are juring in.
The Republican party, from top to bottom tend to have shady people and dishonest. They are the type of people who are a member to the party because it is tribal, racial. In their view the rest who aren't a party to their party, including their families, don't deserve justice, respect and citizenship. Some are the gullible religious people who come from average to poor background but think the republican party represents religion. I can't take these idiots seriously to consider their weird view of their party being religious.
So, in agreement with you, Mitch decided already Trump is innocent.
