no it doesn’t it means Swahili. The coast of Zanj or Zanzibar is another term for Swahili. You think we were on lipstick alley with all of this ignorance.
Zanj was used initially for pagan Bantus in the east African interior, but it became a general term for all black people. Today Zanj is used as the N word for all black people regardless of geography

I'm sad to say that zanji might've actually came from the name azania. Zanj and azania might very well be the same origin one pronounced by greeks and the other by arab and persians. There were somalis that wanted to call some parts of somalia azania. Regardless of it's origin today it carries negative connotation.

Darood and Isaaq have destroyed the Somali name. No other Somalis have humiliated us like these 2 communities vis a vis the Arabs. These black nigs actually go to the khaleej and call themselves Banu Hashim at the dismay of the Arab. So long as these 2 communities exist and call themselves Somali our name is doomed.

Im going to put my two cents and say arabs like any other group have the ability to be racist we should put our self intrest as the Somali people first.

The people that fighting tooth and nail to defend the arabs in how they been treating this migrant crisis are carab bootlickers.

I dont understand why qabilnimo is involved in this topic obviously our ancestors knew we had a different origin for the rest of the african folk on the continent so they made up a story for how we came about. This way a lie but most nations have founding stories which are not exactly truthful.

However walking around in this day and age upholding this lie is unacceptable.

I've heard of that theory. Anyway yes it's carries negative connotations but it was widely used even by Islamic scholars

I hope to get closer to Allah ﷻ by standing for what is Haqq. You guys are not even trying to refute my claims, you just want a free ride after slandering Arabs without anyone fact-checking you.

If an Arab or anyone else disrespects me like that, I will take matters into my hand, instead of mourning in Sspot and generalizing people for what few of them did.
You are slandering somalia by saying we arabs

There is much to say about this topic, the complexity history etc. That being said for once i think it's good to point out the problems that exist, address them, discuss them and acknowledge that they need to be solved as soon as possible.

I just simply wanna add that racism isn't something only experienced by people with african decent or sup-saharan africans heritage. At times some arab are racist against other arabs. Lebanese granted not all of them are racist against syrians and sometimes against all arabs other than themself. There were a time when gulf arabs were insulting moroccans and saying that they weren't real arab while simultaneously hurling insult at them.

Couple of years ago a fiasco broke up in kuwait between kuwaites and egyption. It got very heated and kuwaites started hurling all kind of racist insult at the egypyions. Here is the most famous video of a kuwaiti girl insulting egyptions.

Translation of some of the insults.

Egyption are despicable.

Kuwait for kuwaitis and you are nothing but a paid servent.

We don't need egyption in kuwait. 90% of them are filthy.

I can't find the original video but she had a lot of insults for egyptions.
These things exist but you can't compare the severity of anti black racism with Arab vs Arab racism. Both are bad but Arabs don't think other poor Arabs are inherently slaves and inferior, it's mostly pure beef over politics (Syria wanted to conquer Lebanon) and anti poor rhetoric ( gulf Arabs vs Egyptians). In the case of black people many Arabs believe in racial inferiority just read Ibn Khaldun to see how they thought even in the past. Today they are less racist than in the past but some still hold on to their anti black attitude. I'm not talking about "why don't they let us marry their women" type of BS cause I don't care, I'm talking about spitting, insults, enslavement, rape, beatings etc.

I really didn't say much other than honour and glory of our muslim civilization was acquired by our deen and quoted omar bin al-khatab رضی الله تعالی عنه when he said the honour is in islam and we wouldn't find honour anywhere else other than islam.

If we wanna get the honour back we must get back to the deen and educate other muslim since people today seems to be muslim in name only. The defragmented nature of muslim is quite evident and some of our muslim brethren in east turkistan, myanmar and india are suffering while muslim government are silent may allah help ease their pain and that of every other muslim in need amiin.

I wasn't comparing the degree of racism between different people but i only wanted to acknowledge that what seems to be a racist attitude exit to a certain degree between arabs themselves.

As i said there is much to discuss about this topic that goes back centuries but i thought it would be better to address other issue and concentrate on them. I tend to condemn the guilty party and not generalize. These who mistreat africans on the basis of their colour of their skin are racist but you can't call everyone of the same ethnicity as racist too.

Keep in mind that we're also muslims and as such they're our muslim family. We must call for what is good and forbid what is evil that what ummat Muhammed ﷺ meant to do. I'm not here to excuse criminal action but i simply call for to not generalizing a whole group of people. We don't see the same rage on america despite the fact that the country institutionalized racism into their constitution.

Thats great walaal but the problem is that we do not live in such times so we should educate ourselves and the same time protect the somali people. Whenever a caliphate comes around we could join but for the mean time we should think of ourselves.

Its true that muslim nations look at the ground to avoid the troubles that happen elsewhere however the leaders do not reflect the public view in the muslim world. For example all muslim populations wouldn't want to make diplomatic ties with Isreal yet you see our governments doing such

I'm completely on board with you wadayo . I believe in priorities and we somalis must get our house in order before breaching to others. I simply get in the mood sometimes and start to view the muslim world as a whole from time to time. Contemplating what could've been and reminiscing of what once was.

azania comes from the word Ajan or Ajam (meaning barbaria in Arabic), while the word Zanj comes from the word black. They have no relation whatsoever.

In turkey maybe, but in North Africa no.

If you are sexually attracted to that then no wonder you are a murtard, but don’t post that here.

for Azania = alternate spelling of Ajan.

Despite Ajan being an Arabic term for Benadir we already see the division in Flavius Arrianus’s
The Commerce and Navigation of the Erythraean Sea. Above is a Children’s geography book from 1850, which divides the land of the Soumalies into two, Adel of the aromatics and Ajan of the rivers.

For Zanj meaning black see below.
