He tried to capitalize on polls before the election that showed he would win a majority of seats comfortably. He fell about 10 seats short yesterday, largely due to the socialists increasing their vote share by a little and splitting close races between the Liberals and Conservatives.

He increased his seats by about 2, possibly up to 5 in the next few days. Nothing really changed. The other parties lost or increased their seats between 1-2.

NDP should get a new leader.
With previous leaders, in 2011 the NDP got 105 seats and in 2015 they won more seats than the conservatives.
But for 2 elections straight (2019 and 2021) Jagmeet Singh couldn't get more than 30 seats.
He should resign.

I feel like Canada is not ready to be represented by a non-white, if singh was white, I could see them win more seat. If only they had Layton.

Canada is less racist than America and America elected a black president.
Racism isn't the problem, Jagmeet doesn't have a real plan.

The other reason is that, if you look at canadian history 70% of the time the election was won by a liberal and only 30% for conseervatives so it's incredibly difficult to challenge those 2 parties.

I would say this election was a diagnostic test on the state of the Liberal Party atm.

An expensive diagnostic test (to the tune of $600 Million) but hopefully a wake up call to Trudeau and co.

Hopefully in this term, the Canadian people benefit from a rejuvenated Trudeau and Liberal Party.

It won't always be a white canadian, if a black person is elected as leader of the Liberal party then he/she will most likely win.
Singh was the leader of a party that never won.
